History of The Games
The Real Estate Games began 27 years ago in Washington, DC by Adam Singer, Managing Director of Savills Studley and member of JDRF Board of Chancellors. It is a tremendously successful event, still going on today and raising almost $500,000 annually.

In 2016, with the help of Jim Whelan, Senior Vice President of REBNY, and JDRF NYC/LI board member, we brought the games to New York City and the local community embraced it with open arms.

In 2017, the 2nd annual NYC Real Estate Games garnered incredible support from the local Real Estate Community. Nearly tripling in size from the inaugural games, more than 200 of New York City’s top brokers, developers and property managers came together to compete in a series of sporting events at Chelsea Piers. Our industry partners raised over $235,000 for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research!

This year, led again by NYC Games Founder Jim Whelan; our Chair, John Johnson, Senior Managing Director, Savills Studley; and our Executive Leadership Chair, David Kaufman, Senior Vice President, SL Green, we will capture the momentum from the first two years, open the competition up to a larger portion of the industry, and make an even greater impact in the lives of those living with T1D.
